Rock Star

No i like my life the way it is. It would be cool to be rich and famous. By reading the novel it is not all fun and games, you don't get friends, you don't know how much money your getting and on and on. I just like my life the way it is.

Themes

Anger: During this book Theodore has a tempure and most of the time it is high. For example when Theodore found out that his tickets were fake. He got so mad a X-ray he wanted to literally kill him.

Friendship: This I think is one of the main themes of this book because there is a lot of it. For example, Ginny and Theodore. And Kiara and Theodore, and X-ray ans Theodore. and many more.

Deceit: This theme is just like confusion. So one time Theodore was confused when he found out that his tickets were a fake and Theodore was so mad at X-Ray. And Theodore was trying to explain that he needs another letter to Kiara and she thought something else instead of thinking of what he was saying .

Book Review

Small Steps By: Louis Sachar
Reviewed by:Laura M.
Rating: =) =) =) =) =) (out of five)

Have you ever taken small steps before? My friend armpit from Camp Green Lake has. This book is the sequel to the novel holes and its about a 16 yr old guy from Camp Green Lake nicknamed Armpit. He had just got out and is back on the streets and everyone thinks he's just a criminal even his parents but there's his neighbor, shes a 11 yr old white girl. She is his inspiration and her best friend. Well hes not the only one from camp green lake thats out and back. His nick name is x-ray. And he is always trying to make a quick buck with his sceams .
Well in fact thins book is not just about Camp Green Lake it is also about a new singer named Kiara De Leon. She hates everything about her tour except for when she starts singing and she just gets lost in the song. All of these characters all connect or come together at the end with a twist.

I gave this book a five mainly because this book is mixed emotional meaning it was surprising, happy, sad, mad, scary, exciting, etc. and all of these are the emotions of the book. For example I was happy when Ginny was with armpit and they were at a Kiara De Leon concert. They got backstage passes. Ginny was so happy. Another example was when i was mad and sad once I found out that Ginny's father left her and her mom because of Ginny. The others you will go through while reading the book.

Well, when i said it was a sequel to holes it is not, really it is actually more of a continuation of the book. And if you have ever read holes or any Louis Sachar books, I would personally recommend this book to you. Even if you are 21 or 42 or even 9 this book would change your perspective of things.Just to simplify this whole thing i just want to recommend this book to anyone looking for a story.

Kaira's Music

Kaira's music or lyrics kind of speak to me in different ways for each song.
For instants, her song, I'm gonna take for a ride. this song speaks to me a lot, like it explains that life is a wild ride and now matter what your suck in that ride till the end.

Questions for Kaira

-How many letters did you write to armpit?

-Who would you marry armpit or your dream guy?

-Would you tell your mom about El Genius and Aileen?

-After you turn 18 and fire El Genius, will you stay in the music business?

-Do you think Ginny and you will be best friends or good friends?

Small Steps

This book is a really meaningful book. It is about a boy from Camp Green Lake (like in holes) named theodore and nicknamed armpit. He is trying to correct his life by going back to school, get a job, save his money, and lose the name armpit. hopefully he can a compilsh all of his goals.

The book is not just about theodore, it is also about a popstar named Kiara DeLeon. She is an african american trying to get her freedom from her mother and her manager,El Genius. She is 17 and can't get her money until she's 18 and El Genius says that "all of her money" is in a trust fund and she can't even check if she even has money in it.

And they just can't do it alone they both insperation. Theodore has a little white girl named ginny and she has a disablity called cerebral palsy. Now in the middle of the book she gets inspired by her drummer named cotton (yea i kno its funny). He gets her listening to janice joplin (her music is real rock and roll).
