Book Review

Small Steps By: Louis Sachar
Reviewed by:Laura M.
Rating: =) =) =) =) =) (out of five)

Have you ever taken small steps before? My friend armpit from Camp Green Lake has. This book is the sequel to the novel holes and its about a 16 yr old guy from Camp Green Lake nicknamed Armpit. He had just got out and is back on the streets and everyone thinks he's just a criminal even his parents but there's his neighbor, shes a 11 yr old white girl. She is his inspiration and her best friend. Well hes not the only one from camp green lake thats out and back. His nick name is x-ray. And he is always trying to make a quick buck with his sceams .
Well in fact thins book is not just about Camp Green Lake it is also about a new singer named Kiara De Leon. She hates everything about her tour except for when she starts singing and she just gets lost in the song. All of these characters all connect or come together at the end with a twist.

I gave this book a five mainly because this book is mixed emotional meaning it was surprising, happy, sad, mad, scary, exciting, etc. and all of these are the emotions of the book. For example I was happy when Ginny was with armpit and they were at a Kiara De Leon concert. They got backstage passes. Ginny was so happy. Another example was when i was mad and sad once I found out that Ginny's father left her and her mom because of Ginny. The others you will go through while reading the book.

Well, when i said it was a sequel to holes it is not, really it is actually more of a continuation of the book. And if you have ever read holes or any Louis Sachar books, I would personally recommend this book to you. Even if you are 21 or 42 or even 9 this book would change your perspective of things.Just to simplify this whole thing i just want to recommend this book to anyone looking for a story.

Well formated but if you make it smaller it would take up less space.

You should capitalize things like X-Ray's name.

My friend armpit from Camp Green Lake has. Well he still is.

Watch out for being too informal. see above.

Look at the comments of your classmates. I think you should consider them.

Well, when i said it was a sequel to holes I lied. It is actually more of a continuation of the book.

Don't lie to the reader.
